My Approach

We start with an in-depth initial session to discuss your current health situation, challenges and needs. If needed, I will refer you to a functional practitioner to do further testing (bloodwork, stool analysis etc) to receive guidance for supplements and treatment.

We continue with a vision session, looking at how you want to live and feel, your values, your strengths and your experiences. We then explore your long-term and short-term goals, to have clarity on your steps forward.

Each following session then focuses on the desired habit you want to address and looks at your motivations for change, benefits, potential challenges, internal and external resources needed, and action plan. You will work on self-experiments and incorporate the learnings as you engage in new lifestyle habits.

The pillars below inform the coaching approach.

Functional Medicine

I follow the principles of Functional Medicine, which look for the root causes of a disease or symptom. Our environment and lifestyle play an important role in our mental and physical well-being. We can influence these factors by addressing chronic and systemic imbalances which cause inflammation and stress. When needed, I will guide you toward a Functional Medicine doctor to do further tests (hormonal panel, bloodwork, cortisol test, stool analysis, heavy metal screening, etc).

Behavior Change

Behavior change relates to changing habits and behavior over the long term. Most research on health-related behaviors shows that small changes can lead to significant improvements in health and life expectancy. However, not everyone is ready for change in the same way. Through coaching, I meet you where you are and adapt the process to fit your needs and current situation.

Epigenetics

Genetics provides the blueprint for our cells and thus for our body, like the hardware of a computer. Epigenetics influence how genes are read, like the software of a computer. It has the power to decide which genes are activated or silenced, playing a role in disease management. The epigenetic mechanisms in our bodies are largely shaped by environmental influences. Together, we will explore all these influencing factors and promote holistic self-healing.

Positive Psychology

Life can be challenging. At the same time, every person carries many internal strengths and positive qualities. These are at the center of Positive Psychology. The goal is to activate those positive feelings, strengths, and resources to live more freely, healthily, and happily. We look at who you are, your values, your vision, and your goals. Learn to reconnect with yourself.

Body, mind and spirit are seen as a whole. All connected and influencing each other.
